Minimum order: one full shipping container

Fovarya sells date syrup by the full container load. This is a wholesale supply relationship for food and beverage manufacturers, ingredient importers, distributors, private-label programmes and foodservice buyers — not a route for retail or small trial quantities.

If a full container of date syrup fits your Italy production or distribution plan, send your requirement for a tailored quotation. If your volume is smaller, a regional distributor is usually the better fit and we are happy to say so.

For a first Italian order most buyers take a container of 300 kg IBCs; a single-grade flexitank works once an annual volume is committed.

Date syrup for Italian food and beverage manufacturers

Fovarya supplies date syrup in wholesale quantities to Italian bakery, confectionery, cereal, dairy and beverage manufacturers, and to the importers and distributors that serve them. It is a pourable date sweetener at 72–75° Brix that also carries colour and moisture — useful where a formulation needs a natural, single-ingredient sugar rather than refined sucrose or glucose syrup.

Where date syrup earns its place in Italian formulations

In enriched bakery it deepens the crumb colour and adds a mild caramel note to panettone, colomba and pandoro doughs and to the syrups brushed over them. In biscuit lines it replaces part of the sugar in frollini and filled biscotti. Confectioners use it in torrone, soft nougat and fruit fillings; cereal and bar manufacturers use it as a binder and coating; and gelato and dairy producers use it as a flavour base for date, fig and spiced ranges. Because it is fruit-derived and vegan, it also supports plant-based dessert positioning.

Choosing between pure syrup and a blend

Pure date syrup is a single fruit ingredient at full strength. Some Italian lines instead want a lighter colour, a milder flavour or a keener price, and for those the syrup is blended with grape or glucose syrup to a target you set. Both are made and tested to the same standard, and the quotation shows each option side by side so development and purchasing can weigh them together.

Private label and contract manufacturing

Italian co-packers and contract manufacturers working to a retailer brief receive the specification and lot certificate of analysis formatted to pass straight to the brand owner, with the organic transaction certificate added when the line is certified. Share the retailer standard or disciplinare that applies and we build the supply around it.

Export and logistics to Italy

Date syrup ships as an ambient food ingredient — no refrigeration in transit. We quote FOB origin, or CFR / CIF / DAP to an Italian port or your plant so you can compare a delivered price against arranging freight yourself into Italy. Container loading, palletisation and the shipping documents are handled by our team.

Importing date syrup into Italy

Date syrup enters Italy as a food and must meet EU food law on contaminants, hygiene and labelling (Regulation (EU) 1169/2011), plus Regulation (EU) 2018/848 if an organic claim is made. There is no product-specific tariff quota; the commodity code and preferential origin determine the duty, so confirm both with your customs agent. For the dichiarazione nutrizionale we supply energy, fat, carbohydrate, of-which-sugars, protein and salt per 100 g with the quotation. Where the finished pack references the ingredient in Italian, “sciroppo di datteri” is the common wording.

General guidance for planning only — confirm current import, duty and labelling requirements with your customs broker and regulatory team.

How Italy manufacturers use date syrup

  • Enriched bakery — panettone, colomba, pandoro doughs and syrups
  • Biscotti, frollini and filled biscuits, as a sugar and colour source
  • Torrone, soft nougat and confectionery fillings
  • Cereal bars, granola and breakfast products
  • Gelato, dairy and plant-based desserts
  • Foodservice and retail table syrups with a clean label

Specification and bulk packaging

Why Italy buyers work with Fovarya

Specification agreed before production

Grade, colour target and Brix are fixed in writing and checked against the lot, so the syrup you approve is the syrup that ships.

One supplier for the date range

Italian bakery and confectionery buyers often take date paste alongside the syrup — both can sit under one contract and one set of documents.

Organic handled honestly

If a certified organic lot is not available for your volume and window, we tell you before you order, not after.

Documentation with every container

  • Certificate of analysis for the lot
  • Certificate of origin
  • Health / free-sale certificate where the market requires it
  • Phytosanitary certificate where applicable
  • Packing list and commercial invoice
  • Organic transaction certificate for certified lots

How Fovarya controls quality and compliance

Buying date syrup wholesale in Italy

Can you supply organic date syrup for the Italian market?

For qualifying lots, yes — certified under Regulation (EU) 2018/848, with the certifier and licence number on the transaction certificate. Organic availability moves with origin and season, so confirm your volume and timing early.

Do you sell less than a full container to Italy?

No. Date syrup is supplied by the full container load. If your requirement is smaller, an Italian distributor is the better route and we can say so.

How is the colour kept consistent between shipments?

Give us a colour target and we standardise each lot to it, reporting the value on the certificate of analysis. Pure syrup is naturally dark amber to brown; a blend can be built to a lighter target.

Which incoterms do you quote for Italy?

FOB if you arrange the sea freight, CFR or CIF to Genoa, La Spezia, Trieste or Naples, or DAP to your plant for a delivered price.
