These oils are defined by their fatty-acid profile, their minor components (tocopherols, sterols, polyphenols) and their oxidative stability. Prickly pear seed oil is prized for a very high linoleic acid content and tocopherol level; date seed oil is more balanced, with oleic and lauric fractions, and is used in hair and skin care. Extraction yield is low, so lead times are set by seed availability.
What to confirm
Free fatty acid and peroxide value, the full fatty-acid profile, colour and odour, whether the oil is virgin cold-pressed or refined, and the microbiological and heavy-metal status for leave-on cosmetic use. Ask for a certificate of analysis and, where you need it, an INCI name and allergen statement.
Packaging
Amber glass or HDPE from 1–5 L for sampling and small batch; 25 kg jerricans and 190 kg lined steel drums for production, filled under nitrogen on request.

Are these oils food grade or cosmetic grade?
They are supplied cosmetic grade by default, with the analytical data leave-on formulation needs. Food-grade date seed oil can be discussed separately with the matching documentation.
Why is prickly pear seed oil expensive?
The seeds are a small fraction of the fruit and yield very little oil — roughly a tonne of seed for a litre of oil. Price tracks that yield. We quote against confirmed seed availability for the season.
